The M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle is the scout and reconnaissance version of the Bradley family. It is closely related to the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle, but the M3 was configured for armored cavalry units rather than carrying a full infantry squad.

The M3 Bradley combined armor protection, mobility, observation capability, and firepower in a vehicle that could operate alongside tanks and other armored forces. Its armament included a 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun, a coaxial machine gun, and a TOW anti-tank missile launcher, giving cavalry units the ability to scout ahead, screen friendly forces, and engage enemy vehicles when needed.

From the 1980s onward, M3 Bradleys became an important part of U.S. armored cavalry operations. When moved between bases, ports, training areas, or deployment zones, Bradleys were often transported by rail or heavy equipment transporters as part of larger military logistics and deployment operations.
