About the Model

A Ready-Made 1:87 / HO Artitec M3 CFV Bradley Desert finished in a weathered sand-colored desert scheme. This model represents the Cavalry Fighting Vehicle version of the Bradley, configured for reconnaissance and scout missions rather than infantry transport.

The model features a detailed turret with 25mm cannon, TOW missile launcher, open hatches, twin whip antennas, realistic tracks and road wheels, side stowage, spare gear, rear hull details, and weathered field equipment carried along the vehicle sides. The dusty desert finish, worn running gear, and added stowage give the model a strong Gulf War / Desert Storm appearance, making it well suited for U.S. Army armored cavalry, reconnaissance, and desert combat scenes.

About the Real Thing

The M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle is the reconnaissance and scout version of the Bradley family. While closely related to the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the M3 was designed for armored cavalry units, with its interior arranged to support scout teams, extra ammunition, and additional missiles rather than a full infantry squad.

The M3 Bradley combined mobility, armor protection, observation capability, and heavy firepower in a vehicle that could operate alongside tanks and other armored formations. Its standard armament included a 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun, a coaxial machine gun, and a TOW anti-tank missile launcher, giving cavalry units the ability to scout, screen, and engage enemy armored vehicles when needed.

During Operation Desert Storm, Bradley vehicles played an important role in U.S. armored operations across the desert. M3 CFVs were especially valuable for reconnaissance, route security, flank protection, and forward screening missions, helping armored units locate enemy positions and maintain awareness across fast-moving battlefield conditions.

About Artitec Read-Made

Artitec’s ready-made models are authentically handcrafted, made from high-end resin. Each model is pre-assembled, painted by hand, and often subtly weathered to create a realistically aged look and feel. Models are unique collectables, manufactured in limited production runs.

  • Artitec models are made using plastic (resin) casting technique, under vacuum conditions. This allows for finer, to-scale details, unachievable by other methods. Small details are added by using etched brass parts.
  • These ready-made models are pre-assembled by experts. Assembling model kits can be time consuming and require significant effort to achieve high quality results.
  • Models are hand painted by disciplined artists. Painting and weathering models is not a quick activity, and requires years of refined skill. Perfect for customers looking for realism without the time commitment.
