Model Overview

A Ready-Made 1:87 / HO scale Artitec US M2 IFV Bradley in desert finish. This detailed model represents the infantry fighting vehicle version of the Bradley, finished in a sand-colored scheme with realistic dusting, weathering, and field-worn details. The model features the Bradley’s distinctive two-man turret, 25 mm cannon, TOW missile launcher, open hatch detail, antennas, rear ramp area, side armor panels, road wheels, tracks, tools, tow cables, and extensive stowage along the hull and turret.

The desert finish gives this Bradley a deployed appearance, with subtle variation across the armor panels, darker wear around the running gear, and hand-painted equipment secured to the exterior. Packs, rolls, spare gear, and small fittings add depth to the vehicle and make it well suited for modern U.S. Army displays, desert combat scenes, military transport layouts, and detailed HO-scale dioramas.

Vehicle History

The M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle was developed for the U.S. Army to transport infantry while providing armored protection and heavy supporting fire. Unlike a simple armored personnel carrier, the Bradley was designed to fight alongside tanks and mechanized units, allowing infantry to move with armored formations and dismount closer to the battlefield.

The M2 Bradley is armed with a 25 mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun, a coaxial machine gun, and a TOW anti-tank missile launcher. This combination gives the vehicle the ability to engage infantry, light armored vehicles, fortified positions, and heavier armor at longer ranges. Its tracked chassis allows it to keep pace with main battle tanks across rough terrain, while its armor and low profile make it a central part of U.S. mechanized infantry formations.

Bradleys in desert camouflage became especially recognizable during U.S. operations in the Middle East, including the Gulf War and later deployments. In those environments, vehicles often carried extra equipment, packs, water cans, tools, and field gear on the exterior, reflecting the demands of long-distance movement, harsh terrain, and extended combat operations.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
