Model Overview

A Ready-Made 1:87 / HO scale Artitec US M3 CFV Bradley in forest green combat-ready finish. This detailed model represents the cavalry fighting vehicle version of the Bradley, finished in a dark green field appearance with realistic weathering, exterior gear, and combat equipment. The model features the Bradley’s distinctive two-man turret, 25 mm cannon, TOW missile launcher, open hatch detail, antennas, rear ramp area, side armor panels, road wheels, tracks, tools, and exterior stowage.

This combat-ready version adds a more active field appearance, with camouflage netting, packs, and gear placed across the hull and rear deck. Subtle weathering, darker running gear, small painted markings, and hand-finished surface detail give the vehicle a realistic operational look. The forest green finish makes it especially suitable for Cold War, NATO, woodland, European theater, armored cavalry, and reconnaissance displays.

Vehicle History

The M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle is the reconnaissance and scout variant of the Bradley family. While closely related to the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the M3 was designed for armored cavalry units rather than for carrying a full infantry squad. It retained the same general chassis and turret layout but was configured to support scouting, security, and screening missions.

The M3 Bradley is armed with a 25 mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun, a coaxial machine gun, and a TOW anti-tank missile launcher. This combination allowed cavalry crews to engage light vehicles, infantry positions, and armored threats while operating ahead of larger formations. Compared with the M2, the M3 typically carried fewer dismounts and additional ammunition, sensors, and reconnaissance-related equipment.

In U.S. armored cavalry service, the M3 Bradley became an important vehicle for finding and identifying enemy forces, protecting flanks, and providing battlefield information to commanders. Its tracked mobility allowed it to operate with tanks and other armored vehicles, while its firepower gave reconnaissance units the ability to defend themselves and fight for information when necessary.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
