The M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle was developed to carry infantry into battle while keeping pace with U.S. armored formations. Unlike a simple armored personnel carrier, the Bradley was designed to both transport soldiers and provide direct fire support with its turret-mounted weapons.

The M2 Bradley is armed with a 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun, a coaxial machine gun, and a TOW anti-tank missile launcher. This combination allowed it to engage infantry, light vehicles, fortified positions, and armored threats while supporting dismounted troops on the battlefield.

Bradleys were widely used by the U.S. Army from the 1980s onward and became a major part of American mechanized infantry units. When moved between bases, ports, training areas, or deployment zones, vehicles like the Bradley were often transported by rail as part of larger military logistics and deployment operations.
