Vehicle History

The M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage was developed from the M3 half-track chassis to provide U.S. forces with mobile protection against low-flying aircraft. Its M45 Quadmount carried four .50-caliber M2 Browning machine guns, giving the vehicle a much heavier volume of fire than the earlier twin-gun M13. The M16 entered combat during World War II and could travel alongside mobile ground formations while carrying its crew and ammunition within an armored half-track chassis.

Although designed primarily for anti-aircraft defense, the Quadmount also proved highly effective against infantry, unarmored vehicles, and lightly protected ground positions. M16s supported American operations during the final campaigns in Europe and continued serving during the Korean War, where their concentrated firepower was frequently used in the ground-support role.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
