Model Overview

This ready-made Artitec model reproduces a Massey Ferguson MF 830 combine harvester in the company’s distinctive red finish. The machine features a wide front grain header with a detailed reel, cutter-bar teeth, crop dividers, and visible harvesting mechanisms. Its open operator’s station includes a seat, steering wheel, control levers, pedals, safety railings, and access steps.

The model also recreates the exposed engine components, large drive wheels, smaller rear steering wheels, threshing body, grain-handling housings, ventilation screens, and rear machinery. Fine Massey Ferguson branding and MF emblems appear throughout the machine, while subtle fading, dust, grime, and wear give the combine a realistic working-farm appearance.

Vehicle History

The Massey Ferguson MF 830 represented the compact self-propelled combines used as farms increasingly mechanized their harvesting operations during the 1960s. The Massey Ferguson name had been introduced in 1958, and archived company literature groups the MF 830 with combine publications dating from 1964–1965. The machine’s open operating position, compact body, and exposed mechanical layout reflect the straightforward agricultural engineering of that period.

A combine harvester brings several formerly separate operations together in one machine, cutting the standing crop before threshing and separating the grain. On the MF 830, the wide front header and rotating reel directed the crop into the harvesting mechanism, while the main body housed the threshing and cleaning equipment. Machines of this type reduced the labor and time required during harvest and became familiar sights on European farms during the postwar expansion of mechanized agriculture.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
