Model Overview

This Ready-Made Artitec model reproduces a German StuG III Ausf. G assault gun in a weathered three-color camouflage finish. Its Dunkelgelb base is covered with flowing Rotbraun and Olivegrün stripes across the fixed superstructure, hull, gun barrel, and side armor panels. The model carries the long-barreled 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 gun with the earlier angular mantlet configuration.

The detailed upper hull includes an open commander’s hatch, rooftop machine gun with protective shield, twin radio antennas, tools, tow cables, spare road wheels, engine-deck fittings, and equipment stowed beneath the side armor. Additional details include German vehicle markings, six-road-wheel running gear, individually defined tracks, and realistic dust, grime, rust, and operational wear throughout the model.

Vehicle History

The Sturmgeschütz III was developed by Germany as a low-profile armored assault gun using the proven Panzer III chassis. Its original role was to accompany infantry and engage fortifications with direct fire, but later versions received more powerful long-barreled guns that made the vehicle highly effective against enemy armor.

The Ausf. G became the principal late-war version. Its fixed superstructure reduced manufacturing complexity compared with a fully turreted tank, while the 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun provided substantial anti-armor capability. Many vehicles were equipped with protective side skirts and a rooftop machine gun for close defense, features represented on this 1943 model.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
