Model Overview

A Ready-Made 1:87 / HO scale Artitec Ford TT cargo truck fitted with an enclosed cab, stake-sided cargo bed, and dark canvas cover. This detailed early commercial vehicle features a long truck chassis, narrow spoked wheels, side-mounted spare tire, and an open rear cargo area beneath the raised cover, making it well suited to historic street scenes, delivery routes, commercial yards, and early motor-transport settings.

The light grey body has a worn, work-used appearance, with subtle dust, grime, chipped paint, and rust-toned discoloration visible across the cab, cargo-bed panels, running boards, and chassis. The contrasting black hood, radiator, fenders, wheels, and undercarriage complement the dark brown canvas cover, while fine details include the glazed cab, steering wheel, exterior mirror, headlights, front bumper, suspension components, rear mud flaps, cargo-bed hardware, and tied-down spare tire. Artitec identifies item 387.470 as a Ready-Made H0 / 1:87 model handcrafted from resin and etched-metal parts and individually hand-painted.

Vehicle History

Ford introduced the one-ton Model TT truck in July 1917. It was derived from the Model T automobile but used a reinforced chassis, heavier-duty running gear, worm-gear drive, and other changes intended to support commercial loads. Early Model TT trucks retained the Model T’s four-cylinder, 20-horsepower engine.

Ford initially supplied the Model TT primarily as a chassis, allowing buyers or outside coachbuilders to add cabs and cargo bodies suited to a particular business. This flexibility resulted in numerous configurations for delivery work, agriculture, municipal service, and general freight transport. Factory cab options became available during the 1920s.

A canvas-covered stake body protected cargo from weather while allowing the cover to be opened for loading and unloading. Trucks configured this way could transport merchandise, supplies, parcels, agricultural goods, and other general cargo during the early growth of motorized commercial transportation.

About Artitec Ready-Made Models

Artitec's Ready-Made models are handcrafted from high-quality resin and produced in limited runs. Each model is expertly preassembled, hand-painted, and often subtly weathered to recreate the appearance of a real vehicle in use. Because every model is finished by hand, small variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Artitec uses vacuum-cast resin to reproduce exceptionally fine, true-to-scale details that can be difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. Etched-brass parts are added where appropriate to capture delicate components and further enhance realism.

Each model is assembled, painted, and weathered by skilled specialists—a process requiring considerable time, precision, and experience. Artitec Ready-Made models are ideal for collectors seeking exceptional detail and realism without the time and effort required to build and finish a model kit.
